For SSC applications requiring live capture, a resized photo from your gallery is not a replacement. Take the photograph inside the application module. The Selection Post Phase XIV 2026 notice describes the live photograph and separate signature upload. Always check the notice for your recruitment cycle.
The browser says camera access is blocked
Open the application portal in a normal browser tab. In that site's permissions, allow the camera, then reload the capture step. Your phone or computer may also have a separate camera permission for the browser in its system settings.
If the browser is inside a messaging or social app, open the portal in your main browser. If another app is using the camera, close it and try again. Follow the portal's supported-browser instructions if it lists them.
The camera opens but the photograph is poor
Put the camera at eye level and face it directly. Use even light from in front of you and a plain background. Avoid a bright window behind you. Clean the lens and keep the device steady.
The SSC notice says not to wear a cap, mask or glasses/spectacles while capturing the photograph and not to photograph a pre-existing photograph. Review the portal preview before continuing.
The signature upload is still rejected
The live photograph and signature are different steps. Open your exam's resizer and select Signature. Review the current JPEG/JPG size band and signing-box instructions. If you already have a rejected signature file, use Fix my upload to inspect its format, size and dimensions.
Still unable to capture
Try another supported device or browser, and use the helpdesk listed in your notification if the portal itself fails. Do not submit someone else's photograph or attempt to substitute a screenshot for live capture.
